Collaborated on a modern reimagining of the Hitchcock classic, pivoting from the original long-take aesthetic to a fast-paced, dynamic editing style. Served as Camera Operator and Focus Puller, executing high-intensity handheld cinematography to enhance the film's tension. Managed a RED Raven 4.5K digital cinema camera with a shoulder rig configuration, ensuring sharp focus and stable, yet raw, visual acquisition during complex, movement-heavy sequences.

Context
The project was a bold reimagining of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope, intentionally subverting its iconic long-take aesthetic. The challenge was to replace the original fluid continuity with a fast-paced, high-tension editing style, demanding a completely different approach to camera movement and visual rhythm.
Approach
The visual strategy centered on handheld cinematography to instill a sense of urgency and raw energy. Operating a RED Raven 4.5K on a shoulder rig, I executed complex, movement-heavy sequences that required constant physical agility. As both Camera Operator and Focus Puller, I prioritized sharp focus and dynamic framing to support the rapid-cut narrative.
Outcome
The result is a visceral, modern interpretation that contrasts sharply with the original’s theatrical pacing. The high-resolution 4.5K acquisition allowed for detailed post-production, while the handheld technique successfully translated the film's psychological tension into a contemporary visual language.
